I wrote this thinking of all the things a younger version of myself needed to hear, and then I thought about all the things we carry, all of us, and what words might get us to our next day in the face of self-doubt or shame.
I never want Oliver to wonder if he’s unconditionally loved.
Yes, I hear you! And in writing the poem you extend that wish to all of us. Imagine if we lived in a world where we all knew it, where we all say it. ❤️
